The men could sense when a body was about to surface. they seemed to have a sixth sense about it and would tell the machine operators to slow down and be very careful lest the body be destroyed. Notice that everyone in the photo is a fire fighter.

I can't believe it's been 4 years since 9-11. It seems like yesterday that we met down near Ground Zero.
I remember as well the moment when a body was coming out...a hushed silence would wrap the scene and a palpable reverence hung like a mist. Sad.
